So Albania...I took one step out of the airport, and fell in
love with this country! Having grown up all over, it kind of felt like I
was home in a weird way! I absolutely love it here! We spent the first
night in Tirana at a hotel with an awesome view haha, but Tirana is so awesome!
The Mission President and his wife are awesome! I love them! They
welcomed us so well! With some missionary work and a wonderful first meal! The
food here is amazing, but I won't spend too much time talking about that haha.
I got to do a member lesson and street contacting my first day hahah
which was kind of a lot to take on all at once, after the 20+ hours of
travelling hahah! But it was good :) The next day we got our assignments
and met our companion/trainers! My assignment was to a city called Fier
and my companion/trainer's name is Elder Ostërgard. He is an awesome trainer.
He is a great missionary, he's really good with the language and he is
just really good at teaching me all the stuff I need to know and do. Fier
is so awesome! I love it here! The people here are so awesome and willing
to stop and talk! There is a lot of work to do here and I feel blessed
and honored that I am the one to do it for this transfer and probably the one
after, that's my guess anyways. The branch here is awesome and they were
very welcoming! I really want my Albanian to get better right now cause I wanna
be able to talk to them more!! hahah the language is coming slowly, but it's so
dang hard! But it'll come, I have faith!
So we are whitewashing the area, which for those of you who
don't know what that means (I didn't), it means that both elders in a
companionship are new to the area! We are also opening a new house, so there
wasn't an area book or really any work for us to do from former missionaries,
but the other companionship of elders in Fier graciously gave us some work to
do and some investigators to meet with. We have been trying to meet with
all of them, but a lot of them are busy and it's hard to get meetings with
them, but we have met with a couple and they are so awesome!! I love them so
much! Florjan is one that we have met with. He shows genuine interest and
as of our lesson the other day, he has a baptismal date and he came to half of
general conference on Sunday, which was awesome!! I really hope that he keeps
progressing, I'll keep you posted on the work that we are a part of here in
Fier!
So I'm kind of running out of time, which is ridiculous but
I'll do better next week at giving myself more time haha, cause we gotta go get
ready for the rest of the day, which is missionary work!!
The Lord really is hastening His work all over the world and
right here in the Adriatic South Mission!!! Thank you to my teachers who
helped me so much in preparing to come to Albania!
Remember, if you're a member; get involved in the missionary
work around you!
Have an awesome week and I love you all!
